Zoysia
A dense, fine-bladed grass that handles foot traffic and some shade. Sand-grown, 400 sq ft per pallet.
Zoysia forms a thick, carpet-like turf with a finer texture than St. Augustine. It tolerates partial shade better than Floratam or Bermuda, stands up to foot traffic, and grows more slowly, so it needs less mowing once it’s established.
That slower growth cuts both ways: Zoysia takes longer than Bermuda to recover from damage. It’s a common pick for upscale residential lots and HOA common areas, where a manicured look matters.
Typical contractor uses
- Upscale residential lots
- HOA common areas and entrances
- Lawns with partial shade
